VisaWise Privacy Policy

Summary

VisaWise is local first. It does not require an account. Your travel ledger stays in an SQLite database on your device. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use data for cross-app tracking.

Data stored on your device

The app can store traveller profiles, passport country codes, countries, trip dates, day status, notes, saved plans, rule settings, notification settings, and export files. This information remains on your device unless you choose to share an export.

Analytics

If a PostHog project key is configured, the app sends only seven named funnel events. Events do not include profile names, passport details, countries, trip dates, notes, or location. PostHog uses a random anonymous identifier and receives basic technical context such as app version, operating system, device type, event time, and network address. We disable GeoIP enrichment, app-lifecycle capture, session replay, person profiles, and automatic error capture.

Purchases

Apple processes payment. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier, product and purchase history, subscription status, and related technical information to validate purchases, restore access, and provide subscription analytics. VisaWise does not send RevenueCat your travel ledger or account details.

Notifications and permissions

Limit warnings are scheduled locally on your device. Version 1 does not use background location, photo import, advertising identifiers, or contact lists.

Retention and deletion

Local data remains until you remove the app or choose Settings > Delete all local data. This deletes profiles, trips, plans, and settings from the app database. Files that you exported remain where you saved them. Anonymous analytics and purchase records follow PostHog, RevenueCat, and Apple's retention rules. Because VisaWise has no account and does not send travel data to us, we cannot retrieve your local ledger.

Security and transfers

On-device data is protected by the security of your iPhone. PostHog and RevenueCat may process their limited service data in countries other than your own under their published safeguards.

Children

VisaWise is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy when the app or its service providers change. We will revise the effective date and publish the current version at the privacy URL.
